Spin Class, The Utlimate Burn


Nothing has gotten me into better shape than spin class. Spinning is easy on the body while allowing it to burn up to 950 calories for a 60 minute class. But of course the burn varies depending on the effort you put into it.
When I first starting spinning I could only just sit and pedal and I bet I only burned about 200 calories but I stuck with it. For me it really hasn't gotten easier because I just turn up the resistance and work harder.
For me the order of calorie burn in the classes offered at the club have been: #1 Spin, #2 Bootcamp, #3 Zumba, #4 Body Works and #5 Step.

The first organized ride of the season


What a great day for a bike ride! The morning was a little brisk but the sun was out in no time. The Daffodil Classic gives you a choice of either a 40 or 100 mile loop. Since it was the first ride of the season my friends and I chose the 40 mile loop. We had a great time enjoying the scenery and since it wasn't a race we stopped for a latte at our favorite place.
After getting home around 2:00pm and having a chunky monkey the day was only half over so crazy me I went down by myself and did the same 40 mile ride again. I was amazed that the pit stops were still open. It was much more fun going with friends though.

Skiing at Lake Louise in Alberta Canada




We'll it's my 25th wedding anniversary April 7th and we are in the Lake Louise / Banff area in Alberta Canada. Today we are skiing at Ski Louise in Lake Louise and it is absolutely gorgeous. The runs are well groomed and long.
